Irgendwie brummt unser online #osr open Table gerade richtig - so zumindest mein Eindruck.

Wolves Upon the Coast: The Unofficial Player's Guide

An unofficial player's guide for Wolves Upon the Coast by Luke Gearing.

First game at an open table of #wolvesUponTheCoast. Overall I quite enjoy it.

It's definitely interesting going to it from Cairn, vs probably the other games people usually go to it from - it feels mechanically rather complicated, which is probably not the usual reaction.

On the other hand, characters have absolutely no backstory at all, which is interesting. It's the game that most strongly enforces that you do not have a backstory that I have played.

#osr #ttrpg

@AetherEgo I’m thinking that #osr design philosophy of presenting the world/setting instead of running a „story“ might be a cool approach for playing in pseudo-historical settings. Examples: #WolvesUponTheCoast (Luke Gearing) for a mythical version of the Dark Ages, #InTheLightOfASettingSun (J.B. Davis)

The words, diegetic advancement, got stuck in my head.

Diegetic Advancement

For some god-forsaken reason, the words, Diegetic Advancement got stuck in my head this morning. Here is what was born from that phrase rattling around in my head:

Githyanki Diaspora

The Brimuxi's crew goes raiding on behalf of the people of Sicara. While the regular squabbling betwixt crew members still occurred, the job itself went off flawlessly!

This will be my last recap for awhile. The party was kind enough to turn this into a pickup game, so there may be some intermittent updates when we're able to get together. Thanks to everyone who's been reading and following along, it's been a lot of fun!

Wolves Upon the Coast - Session #10 — Mac Makes Things

With everyone patched up, the crew of the Brimuxi decides to figure out their next big score.

Torn between doing #dungeon23, continuing #WolvesUponTheCoast, or returning to #Dwimmermount. I know I want to commit to doing one of the three with some regularity in 2023 but I know I don't have the time or energy for more than one.

First session report from my #Starforged #WolvesUponTheCoast #soloRPG campaign. I actually played this last weekend. Shipwrecked on the small island of Rhus, Estrid leads her warband against some marauding merfolk.

WUtC campaign, 12 Mid-Winter, 314

Estrid sails with a band of Norse raiders. Their leader, Jaran, is a cruel man and much hated by the company. One night, a huge storm batters the ship and from the crashing waves a band of merfolk attack the desperate crew. In the chaos, the ship is dashed against the rocky coast of the island of Rh

I wrote about starting Luke Gearing's acclaimed hexcrawl campaign #WolvesUponTheCoast, using @shawntomkin's #starforged. Not an obvious choice...

New(ish) #ttrpg blog, by the way. I'd like to blog more. I worry about it all - layout, writing skill, name, etc, so much that I frequently stall out.

Wolves Upon the Coast, Starforged

It seems as though I'm incapable of running a system without tinkering with it, or even running a campaign setting in the game it was designed for. To whit, my latest project, running the dark ages hexcrawl of Luke Gearing's Wolves Upon the Coast with Shawn Tomkin's fiction-first sci-fi pointcrawl,
