Assembly Speaker Robin Vos exits after 13 years, reshaping Wisconsin politics

The longest-serving Assembly speaker in Wisconsin history, who acted as a block on the battleground state’s Democratic governor and also drew the ire of President Donald Trump, isn't running again. Robin Vos announced Thursday that he won't seek reelection. Vos spent 13 years as speaker and has been one of the most influential Republicans in swing state Wisconsin. He was viewed by his liberal opponents as a shadow governor who shrewdly used his legislative majority to stop Democratic policies. Vos angered Trump when he initially didn't investigate Trump's claims of fraud following the 2020 presidential election.

Any #wisconsin peeps remember when #Foxconn outfoxing the con artists in the #WisconsinGOP ? They were promised the largest corporate welfare boondoggle ever offered to a foreign firm, took land via imminent domain, got a pass on environmental regulations and for water rights and got public investment to cover infrastructure upgrades to power factories with what was to be 13,000 jobs. They built warehouses instead and stopped at 1,300 jobs.

Foxconn is an evil empire. I wish the workers luck in their pursuit of justice.
