Is promoting the belief that it is the will of God for certain specific government officials to rule over a country’s people an expression of #religiousNationalism ?

Is anyone here attending #RareDC2025 ( #RareDiseaseWeek in Washington D.C.)?

I am unable to attend. It could be an excellent last opportunity to advocate for the protection of the #AffordableCareAct including insurance protections for pre-existing conditions. Another good ask would be to stop research funding cuts.

It is not a time for our most vulnerable folks to be silent.

How many folks think he has the competence to see that regulations ensure that it is safe and not used for nefarious purposes? While I will be voting for Kamala, I am skeptical of expanding the #childTaxCredit again (especially to such a high amount and to such a wide range of people).

If we don’t start properly enforcing #antitrust laws, what is to stop this extra pool of money from being inflationary?

To address poverty, it would be better to focus on labor rights and raising the minimum wage (while using #antitrustLaws to keep prices in check). I prefer to earn enough from my job vs from the #government. #inflation

I am hopeful because #Biden announced new rules to tackle corporate consolidation. In my opinion/judgment consolidation within industries has allowed #megaCorporations to set prices exceptionally high. The Justice Department and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) are releasing a draft update of the Merger Guidelines (Draft Guidelines), which describe and guide the agencies’ review of mergers and acquisitions to determine compliance with federal antitrust laws. The goal of this update is to better reflect how the agencies determine a merger’s effect on competition in the modern economy and evaluate proposed mergers under the law. Both agencies encourage the public to review the draft and provide feedback through a public comment period that will last 60 days.
