It's so beautiful outside. We went for a short walk around the house this afternoon. I love how last week's snow, the frost on the trees and the grey sky conspire to create a monochrome landscape. And it is oh so quiet.

I still can't quite believe this is where we live now. I'm happy.

Another wonderfully snowy day here at Nordens Ark, to the delight of the tadjik markhors in the park.

In the wild, markhor lives in the western areas of the Himalayas at an altitude of 600 – 3600 meters.

🐐The stunning, corkscrew-shaped horns of the males are popular among trophy-hunters and can fetch up to $1,000 a kilo on the black market.
