When it rained, the roots would hum, a low, wet sound that made the earth tremble. We cut it down last year. Burned it. Buried the ashes.
Tonight, something stands in its place.

They said the dolls were harmless. Pretty little things with glass eyes and painted smiles.
But every night, I hear the clinking of porcelain from the nursery. Tiny footsteps tapping across the floorboards. Whispered giggles behind the door.
This morning, I found a new place set at the table—
a cup of tea already poured, still warm.
And my name stitched neatly into a doll’s silk dress.

But this absolutely cracked me up...not so much the picture as the comment AND THE MAN WHO POSTED IT!!! :o I mean, there are people I expect to post certain things and people I think would never post certain things.
But also: Way to go, Bill Nye the Science Guy!👊
