I finally broke through all the things blocking me and wrote about my spiritual call to share with other white people ways we can heal from the damage of white supremacy.
writing is one of the ways I process things, here's a note from me to other white people related to our response to the election: https://serenebabe.net/to-white-people-like-me-re-the-usa-election/
One of my favorite TikTik people. A “Cultural Liberation Worker.” I especially recommend her for my fellow white people https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTFNjLUGw/
Now I'm confused -- and this is only based on TikTok and other social media. I'm seeing Black women say we should call her Kamala because that's what she's choosing to call herself on social media (see #KamalaHQ Official on twitter, Instagram, TikTok).
So, if I say I "listen to Black women" I refer to her as Kamala?
I know in #WhitenessRecovery there are rarely binary right/wrong answers, but I'm feeling especially confused here.
As a white woman I'm wondering why white women aren't rallying in support of and for Harris the way Black women (and now Black men) have.
It's not something I'd normally do (get involved in electoral politics beyond voting) so I'm not surprised by myself but I am curious why other white women haven't done anything yet?
PS I'm trying to refer to her as Harris rather than Kamala Harris just like I refer to Biden as Biden not Joe Biden.
