The final photos were from the Friends Hide at the northern end. More swallows were in more rafters, this time an adult was in and out the whole time we were in there!

We had a walk about the site but sadly the heat caused too much haze for my longer distance photos.

We did catch up with the Yellow Wagtails again, this time taking a bath in the water in front of the main hide. Shooting from its basement area we got a great view.

From where we started we could see a pair of juvenile Yellow Wagtail exploring up on the main hide roof.

Edit: it’s a Yellow Wagtail, not a Grey Wagtail

Back in the summer we were invited to do some birding by @JimsPhotos so we headed over to WWT Welney.

In contrast to this week it was very hot, in spite of the heat it was great meeting up with Jim and his partner.

Starting off the trip we met up in the side of the main hide, up just above our heads a Swallow was up in the rafters tucked up in its nest.

On the way to the coast, we called in at WWT Welney. There was a handful of Whooper Swan from the main hide. They were very near the hide so we could see the yellow bill markings.
