Tooters! I went to my #Ward4 city safety meeting cuz people are criming. Fifty nice people sat most quietly in the audience. All I could think of was the opportunity cost of their time. Imagine if fifty people actually did something for two hours like make sure all the Kia and Hondai neighbors got dealer appts to fix their ignition, or get city provided free steering clubs. Or fifty people coded a peer to peer database app to track completion of toilet repairs in the schools. I would be at every long safety meeting. Would u go to such a meeting? Like barnraising, except it's technology raising. We could do that right? Get something done? Foaming at the mouth like a just caught Chesapeake bluecrab is great but I think it's time we changed the format.

Red Hill Valley Parkway Northbound's Barton St. offramp will be closed Tues. Jan. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon, to fix the guide rail and fences. All lanes of the #RHVP will remain open, but there may be some delays.

The folks at Centre (3) gave us a tour of their spaces. We learned about printing, audio-visual arts, and textile art. We talked about the business art, making art accessible for folks with disabilities, and alternative youth education through the arts (NuSteel)

For one night, we were archers. Tammy and Pascale joined Olympian Stephanie Barrett and the folks at the Hamilton Archery Centre to help raise funds for the McMaster Children’s Hospital. Together we raised $1,100!
It’s incredible to see the consistency in Stephanie’s shots (the goal was to hit the outer ring which was worth 10 point!).
Hamilton Archery Centre is located right here in Ward 4.

When the temperature drops below -15°C, or -20°C with the windchill, a Cold Alert is triggered in #HamOnt. If you need a warm space, you can go to your local library or recreation centre during their business hours. Overnight, you can go to The Hub.
Renting? Landlords must keep air temperature at least 20°C or more (by-law 04-091).
