Clotilde Catalán de Ocón y Gayolá (1863–1946) Spanish entomologist & poet, noted for her study of lepidoptera in the Sierra de Albarracín. 1st Spanish woman to actively practice #entomology #author of several #poems under the pseudonym La Hija del Cabriel. Her older sister, Blanca Catalán de Ocón y Gayolá, became 1st #Spanish female #botanist.

With husband Fritz, "Mama Laeng" founded Lenco vinyl turntables in 1946. 1,300 staff had a pension scheme, sports teams, a library, cashless salary payments, flexible work hours & accident prevention - all before Swiss women got vote in 1971

Blanca Catalán de Ocón y Gayolá (1860-1904). 1st #Spanish woman botanist. Collected herbarium in #Albarracín #Aragon, (2 still survive), showcased some species unrecorded by science until then. Learning encouraged by her mother Loreto de Gayolá, & sister Clothilde became an #entomologist

Evelyna Bloem Souto (1926-2017), In 1957 she was the only woman in 1st class of civil engineering course at University of São Paulo #Brazil. As a student, she had to draw a moustache and beard on her face to be allowed on a French work site to inspect tunnel building.
