Or wonder at the thoroughness of police attempting to enforce a restraining order using grainy video, mistaken or false claims by a Woodside employer and arrest at home.

Climate activist arrested over a hat

Early on Wednesday, July 2, my phone rang. It was a Western Australian police officer informing me he was outside my house and about to arrest me. I was in bed at the time and as I scrambled to get dressed, he and his partner made their way inside.

Not so much a no win situation as a failure to plan and implement the plan situation.

Certainly there would have been an evacuation plan. And almost everyone would have had to evacuate at some time of their lives, and know what to do. Using the ‘panic’ excuse is lazy emergency management.

People rarely panic in emergencies. They do however act on information they receive and when that information is incorrect, not credible, poorly delivered or unclear they act in unanticipated ways. This is not the fault of the crowd it is the fault of the emergency managers.

I am very confused as to how there is even a question to if it was politically motivated or not. It was an invasion day protest, and it's not like there isn't contention regarding January 26th.

Perth's Invasion Day rally 'explosives' scare hasn't been declared terrorism. Here's why

Identifying ideological motivations behind attacks is critical to separating terrorism from other events just designed to cause fear, an extremism expert told the ABC.

WA Police raided home of Joana Partyka. A search warrant was issued on the grounds of an indictable offence that had not yet occurred. The petrostate of WA in action where police work hand in glove with @woodsideenergy .

Barrister Zarah Burgess called it "a somewhat Orwellian notion of potential future crime” that “sparked an era of troubling policing of peaceful climate protest.”
