scientists find – but reason is unclear
From Spain to Japan, experiments have repeatedly shown a left-turn bias, but exact mechanic ‘is still an open question’
1) they must check southern hemisphere!
2) my son who has strong opinions on such things but can't communicate them practically always walks clockwise these days. He used to do longer walks either direction but now it's 30 mins clockwise.
Research can be exciting when scientists stumbled upon their topic by serendipity, as was the case with this idea that emerged during the pandemic: How do you walk in closed spaces? The scientists still don't know why and found fascinating ideas for experiments. Are we just like ants exploring foreign spaces? https://www.theguardian.com/science/2026/jun/10/humans-prefer-to-walk-anticlockwise-scientists-find-reason-unclear

Would be great if they included anthropologists. All these ancient circle walking rituals ...
A zombie fell out of the bushes after a mosquito bite.
Autumn leaves glowed like light bulbs in the dark light. A swamp. It was dark here. And damp. Very cool. The wind was already blowing cold. It was autumn, after all. But the zombie didn't feel any of this. And didn't understand. He practically fell out of the bushes and walked. Along the swamp.
