Yep. My daughter works in DoJ advocating for indigenous youth. The numbers incarcerated are too high, deaths in custody too high, suicide in the community to high, chronic mental health stats too high.
Australians of Settler Heritage and New Arrival Australians just want First Nations to go away and die out. That's quite clear.
So .. Aussies talk all the time about "mateship" and "fair go" and helping ppl when they need support.
But it seems #VoteNo only want "fair go" for ppl like them.
And certainly NOT for #FirstNationsInAustralia
Let's hope #Australia sees sense on 14thOct and does the right thing for our #indigenous communities.

As we approach the referendum it strikes me that Australians of settler heritage who #VoteNo are STILL thinking "their Christian task is to steal the pillow of the living race".

THe choices are:
a) Take what you can get NOW, and open the door for more later. or
b) Get NOTHING FOREVER.
This is the brutal reality of referendums in Australia: A Yes vote might **MIGHT** open the window for future improvements by generating political capital and will.
