Adding more alt texts

In the early days of the dial up internet, alt text could be your friend, sort of, as it kinda told you if the wait for the image to load would be useful. As a sighted person, I never realized that the alt texts could and would be beneficial to people with less sight than I have... I neglected the alt texts when I shared things, many of the newer social media bits didn't even offer the option anymore. Everyone just assumed that others could "just" see it... πŸ€” When I joined Mastodon during the great migration of November '22, I learned the importance of alt texts again. Heck, I became someone that doesn't boost (re-share) messages that don't contain the alt texts, as I want the content to be enjoyable by everyone, so including those that need screen readers. […]

First and foremost your health is priority one.

Second you are moving on unknown territory so it is to be expected that certain things make Corners that you do not expect. Third because of the second Point certain steps can take longer, than your ideal plan of execution.

Stay calm, balance your health, then do the rest

πŸ•ΆοΈ Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses: A Detailed Look πŸ•ΆοΈ
I’ve seen many blind folks curious about the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Here's some insight from someone who’s been using them daily for almost five months:
1.
Cost and Quality πŸ’ΈπŸ•ΆοΈ
β€’ These are premium Ray-Ban sunglasses! Remember, even the non-smart versions are pricey. But do the smart features justify the extra cost? πŸ€”
2.
Headphone Functionality 🎧
β€’ They’re decent headphones with an open-ear design, offering a different feel compared to AirPods. Great for situational awareness, especially for the blind community. But is the audio quality up to par? 🎢
3.
Communication Features πŸ“žπŸ’¬
β€’ You can make/receive calls and send texts via phone, WhatsApp, and FB Messenger. Convenient, but how well do these features actually work? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
4.
Visual Assistance πŸ‘οΈβ€πŸ—¨οΈ
β€’ They can provide visual assistance by describing objects and surroundings. Helpful, but manage your expectations. They don’t turn blind people into partially sighted individuals! πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈ
5.
Overall Utility and Price πŸ’·
β€’ At Β£300, these glasses are a significant investment. It’s crucial to evaluate if the smart features meet your specific needs before making a purchase. 🧐
While the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are innovative, their practicality, especially for blind users, needs thorough evaluation. Consider detailed reviews and personal trials before deciding! 🌟
