This idea that #parents know best is BS. Parents are not Drs or #virologists. They don't in fact know best and if they are ignoring the advice of trusted professionals, #science, and hurt their #kids by not getting them #vaccinated there is no mechanism to hold them responsible for their #neglect.
“The high historical #humanmortality rate from #H5N1 suggests ‘the terrible consequences of underreacting to current threats’, say human and animal #virologists from the Global #Virus Network spanning more than 40 countries.” open.substack.com/pub/adamtooz...

Upheaval in Washington Hinders Campaign Against #BirdFlu
Called #H5N1, does not yet seem to be able to spread from person to person. But with one recent mutation, it seems to have moved closer to becoming a human contagion, a worrisome development.
This week, an international group of #virologists concluded that turning back #bird #flu would require continuous monitoring of milk from dairy farms, wastewater and people working with infected animals.

Upheaval in Washington Hinders Campaign Against Bird Flu

Determined to cut costs and manage communications, the Trump administration is moving too slowly to contain the virus, experts say.

The New York Times
''#Virologists around the #world said they were flabbergasted by how poorly the #USA was tracking the situation. “You are surrounded by highly pathogenic viruses in the wild and in farm animals,” said Marion #Koopmans, head of virology at Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands. “If three months from now we are at the start of the pandemic, it is nobody’s surprise.”
Well here we go again. Another #Zombie idea #Xenophobes need to corral the intellectually impaired is resurrected yet again but alas :
#COVID19 DID NOT emerge from a lab. #Coronavirus constitutes a very large family tree extant in nature for a long time. We will likely be seeing the flares for a very long time and the conspiracy nonsense will likely be resurrected again and again…cause you shouldn’t trust #Epidemiologists, #Virologists, #Immunologists#InfectiousDisease specialists etc

#USA is #gambling with #birdflu” – #virologists are alarmed

Source: Watson, {Excerpts} Tulio de Oliveira is director of the Center for Epidemic Control and Innovation in South Africa. He criticizes the US's handling of bird flu cases and issues a strong warning. "Failure to control H5N1 in American livestock could have global consequences and requires urgent attention. The United States has done little to reassure the world that it has the outbreak under control."…

“It’s very frustrating, because there are just huge #gaps in the #data that’s coming out,” says #Peacock. “I don’t think it’s unfair to say that a lot of outside observers don’t think this #outbreak is being taken particularly seriously.”

Why virologists are getting increasingly nervous about bird flu

Avian flu in dairy cows could stick around on US farms forever, and is raising the risk of outbreaks in mammals—including humans—around the world.

#H5N1 appears to have passed from #cattle to #poultry on multiple occasions. “If that virus sustains in dairy cattle, they will have a problem in their poultry forever.” Worse it could find its way back into migrating #birds.
