The parts of the worm bin: a lid, two shelves with worm sized holes in their bottoms, a filter, and a bowl for moisture to drip into.
Worms are strong and good at squeezing into small spaces. Mine keep getting under the filter, from where they may risk drowning and also can get through spout and then into the house.
I have put duct tape over the edges of the filter. It should stop the worms. We'll see.
When the bin is outside, it is near a streetlight, which discourages the worms from leaving. I could leave a light on at night while the bin is inside for winter, but I'm sure I would forget.

The soil in the pot of this little chili plant was a bit low, so I added worm poop. Now it should become a big chili plant. I don't know for sure which variety this plant is, it showed up outside in autumn. It's probably Serrano Purple or has one as a parent, the leaves were purple when it was small. I have grown other purple chilies, it could also be one of those.
