#Vaccarese was still mostly green. We're getting into grapes where it was often a challenge to find clusters with more than a few pink berries, and I'd estimate Vaccarese at 2-3% veraison. A beauty shot as we head into the weekend that has significance beyond that.
This block, at the westernmost edge of #TablasCreek, is one of America's more interesting (read: obscure) #vineyard blocks. The site is home to several of our rarest #grape varieties, including #Vaccarese, #Picardan, #TerretNoir, #Bourboulenc, and #ClairetteBlanche. Their journey to the US included a stay in quarantine at UC Davis from 7 to as long as 13 years.
So Instagram is now flagging the posts that we make that include the grape #Vaccarese as being vaccine-related content, and using its algorithm to suppress its reach. This post got about a tenth the exposure that we’d expect. I mean… I get it, but oy vey.
