High surf is expected Thursday through Monday with the potential for 8-14 foot waves. Low risk of coastal flooding due to lower tide levels.

The main impact of this storm will be moderate to locally heavy rain leading to minor nuisance flooding, localized rockslides possible in canyons and steep hillsides and water flowing in normally dry washed, flood channels, and low water crossings.

Ventura County Office of Emergency Services

The National Weather Service and Ventura County Sheriff’s Emergency Services are monitoring a winter storm system that is set to impact Ventura County beginning Wednesday night through Friday. Rainfall estimates for this storm are currently forecast to deliver between 1-2 inches for coasts/valleys and between 2-5 inches for the mountain and foothill areas. Peak intensities expected Thursday morning may reach 0.33-0.66 inches per hour. A slight chance of thunderstorms Thursday with isolated 1 inch rates per hour. There are indications that small stream flooding and increased flow in creaks is expected.
