I was interviewed on Solidarity Breakfast | 3CR Community Radioshow Sat 10 Dec. Interview starts about 12 minutes in. Subject was the swings against Labor in the Northern suburbs, and the silence on upgrading the #Upfieldline extending it to Wallan. I also discuss the VAMPIRE index (vulnerability assessment for mortgage, petroleum and inflation risks and expenditure) adding to #costofliving pressures in northern suburbs.

Also for the first time the MPs representing #Merribek have all signed the #climateemergency declaration.

Solidarity Breakfast

--- Saturday 7.30 - 9 am Presented by Annie McLoughlin and Tobia Severi The Saturday morning 3CR timeslot has a proud history of coverage of union issues and industrial disputes. Preceded by the Strikeback Show and Par Avion, the Saturday morning presenters have included trade union leaders, activists, radical intellectuals and ratbag troublemakers – sometimes all four! Solidarity Breakfast covers industrial current affairs and issues from a rank and file unionist perspective, with a focus on the broad labour movement and democratic struggle - both locally & internationally.

@dP mesmerising! We need this to extend the #Upfieldline in Melbourne’s northern suburbs to Wallan . I gather overhead electrification would be a bit slower? #upgradeupfield

Victorian election result?
for first time the 3 MPs covering #Merribek have signed a #climateemergency declaration. In the northern suburbs there were major swings away from Labor to the Liberals. We think Labor's silence on upgrade and extension of Upfield rail line to Wallan contributed to this #vicvotes election result.

Northern Transport Corridor and the 2022 election results. Time to upgrade, extend Upfield line to Wallan

Climate Action Moreland: people in Brunswick, Coburg, Fawkner and Glenroy wanting action on climate change

Transport election promises are much smaller this time round in Victoria #vicvotes2022, but the quality control is no better.

Just reflecting Capacity issues in the northern transport corridor identified by Infrastructure Australia, but no plan by either major party to address this. It needs #UpfieldRailline extended to Craigieburn and Wallan. Population north of Craigieburn will be approaching 100k in 9 years time, no transport plan to address this. #Upgradeupfield #publictransport #vicvotes

Labor and the Coalition are promising $19 billion between them for transport projects – way down on the $163 billion promised in 2018 – but they’re as scornful of proper assessment processes as ever.
