Our preschoolers have been busy bringing the Christmas story to life 🎄✨
After being inspired by the beautiful knitted nativity in our reception area, the children decided to create their own version- using cardboard, tissue paper, imagination and a whole lot of teamwork.
We love seeing their ideas take shape in such creative ways!

✨ Try at Home Activity! ✨
Last week, our preschool children grated cheese and carrots to make their own tasty wraps- a simple, healthy lunch you could try out at home!
Top tip: Try using a small nutmeg grater- its size makes it much easier for children to handle safely and confidently.
Let them sprinkle, roll, and enjoy!

Young children don’t need to know about the details of war- instead, we can help them connect with the ideas of remembering, caring, and saying thank you to people who help keep others safe.
Our visit to the Stone Recreation Ground Memorial, where the children laid their handmade poppy wreath, helped them connect with this idea- that remembering can be a peaceful, thoughtful act of gratitude. 💮

🍂 “There’s magic in the simple moments; watching the leaves fall, feeling the crisp air, and noticing how the world changes around us.”

At KatieB Kids, we love giving children time to connect with nature and experience the rhythm of the seasons. Throwing leaves, exploring textures, and observing colour changes help children build a sense of wonder, grounding, and awareness of the natural world

✨ Try it at home! ✨
Celebrate creativity and colour by making your own Rangoli patterns 🌈
All you need are coloured chalks, pom poms, buttons, or any bright loose parts you can find!
Encourage your little ones to explore shapes, symmetry, and pattern-making while celebrating the beauty of Diwali.

In celebration of Black History Month, our little bakers explored the story behind Jamaican Ginger Cake- and how the ingredients travelled across oceans! 🌍💛
They stirred their way through sticky ginger, dark sugar and warm spices, learning how these flavours connect to Jamaica’s rich heritage and the journeys that brought them to kitchens all around the world.

✨ Happy Diwali!✨
Our little creators have been busy crafting their very own diva lamps from scratch, shaping them out of clay with care and creativity. 🪔
We can’t wait to share their beautiful finished pieces soon- each one a tiny masterpiece.

🍯✨Our Upper Nursery children have been making honey cake for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Honey is used in this special cake as a symbol of hope for a sweet year ahead- a lovely way to connect learning with culture, tradition, and community. #RoshHashanah #activelearning #understandingtheworld #reggioemilia

📚🌟 This week, the preschoolers have been learning about Windrush ahead of Windrush Day, today, via the incredible story of "Coming to England" by Dame Floella Benjamin. It's so important for children to learn about the contributions of the Windrush generation, even from a young age.
