At Kasese Humanist School , we ensure our learners get exposure to #outdoorlearning , we don't confine our learners to the classroom walls.
There is a lot learnt onspot when students go out for #fieldworks , #studytours . In the images attached our students at the Rukoki campus were on tour of #queenelizabethnationalpark , the #KazingaChannel , #equator and the #lakes , #wildlife and #savannah

#LewistonID library to lend outdoor activity kits thanks to new grant
By James Dawson
Published November 11, 2024
"Library users in the Lewiston area will soon have the chance to try gold panning, #birdwatching and other outdoor activities free of charge.
The #LewistonCityLibrary recently won a grant from the National Forest Community Recreation Fund to put together outdoor activity kits its users can check out starting next month. The Idaho Capital Sun first reported this story.
'We’re excited to partner with the Lewiston City Library to support new ways for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with public lands, learn about conservation, and inspire them to take an active role in #stewardship,' said Angela Edwards, a partnership coordinator with the #NezPerceClearwater #NationalForests.
Kits include equipment needed for gold panning, birdwatching, #hiking and #camping. A #DutchOven will also be available for those wanting to experience cooking outdoors.
Those are on top of the fishing poles the library has loaned out for years, according to library director Lynn Johnson.
'It seemed like a good way for us to offer things for the public that are a little out of the ordinary,' Johnson said in a press release.
'Libraries are about opportunity. Whether you have limited means or lots of access and wealth, we want to help people of all means try something out,' she said.
These new outdoor activity kits will be available to check out by those with a Valnet library card, which includes a group of 48 school and public libraries in north central Idaho stretching from Elk City to Potlatch."

🔥✨ Wishes, wonder & a little Forest School magic ✨🔥
Last week, our Forest School fire became something truly special. Each child carefully placed their pinecone into the flames, carrying a wish for the new year. As they burned, the different natural coatings transformed the fire into dancing colours – a beautiful reminder that every child’s hopes and ideas are unique.

🌲❄️ Fresh air doesn’t take a Christmas break ❄️🌲
The Christmas holidays are a wonderful time to slow down, but getting outdoors still plays a vital role in children’s wellbeing. Whether it’s a winter walk, muddy puddle jumping, or a quiet moment noticing nature, time outside supports physical health, emotional regulation, creativity, and calm.
Curriculum Reform, Climate Literacy & Safeguarding: Decolonising What We Teach (and Why) in Light of the DfE Review
The Department for Education's Curriculum and Assessment Review outlines potential educational reforms by 2028. While improvements are noted, significant gaps remain in curriculum time and assessment for climate education. Action steps for school leaders to mitigate shortfalls include embedding climate education into policies, assessing decolonial practices, and enhancing teacher training. At KatieB Kids, we love giving children time to connect with nature and experience the rhythm of the seasons. Throwing leaves, exploring textures, and observing colour changes help children build a sense of wonder, grounding, and awareness of the natural world
