Uber adds hotel bookings and travel features as it tries to become your everything app

I just got done doing a thing. I cancelled my #UberEats #UberOne membership. I ordered McDonald's tonight. The driver farted around for 10 minutes before making the 10 minute drive to deliver my food. I know this because the countdown as to when she would be here didn't move for quite a while. So obviously when I did get my food it was ice cold. That was the last straw. I didn't even want to use Uber Eats but the mom and Pop delivery company that I normally use closes at nine. So under duress I used it. I had it on a three month trial, and this was the first month they charged me for it. As a last ditch effort to keep me as a member, hey. I just said member. But I digress. they offered me 90% off the monthly fee for three months, which meant that I would've paid three dollars a month for three months. In the comments I stated that I rarely if ever got hot food delivered to me. Even if I paid the extra to have food delivered directly to me. I said they needed to do better to get food that is supposed to be served hot to their customers. And because they don't honour refunds for cold food I had no recourse. I also didn't get sauce for my nuggets. So I had to eat cold boring bland nuggets. I will still keep the app on my phone because it's handy to read restaurant menus in an accessible format. But as for the rest of it, byyye!

Uber One is rolling out family sharing and some sweet holiday perks, like free deliveries and a $25 Best Buy discount via Uber Eats. Because who *doesn't* want to subsidize their family's late-night snack habits? Are these perks actually good, or just another reason to question your subscription choices?

#UberEats #UberOne doesn't give you "free" delivery.

The restaurant is already paying for your delivery in its inflated prices (in combination with the inflated minimum you have to spend to qualify for free delivery even when you're paying for UberOne).

UberOne just means you don't give UberEats another delivery fee on top for doing absolutely nothing.
