These pretend patriots are almost all also pretend Christians. And like their claimed religion where they pick and choose which parts of their Bible they're willing to follow, they pick and choose what parts of the Constitution and laws they want to follow in _their_ version of America.

When they wave the flag and claim to be patriots, they're talking about a new version of America made in their image, with them in charge. They crow about 'the framers' intent' but then have no intention of following anything that doesn't fit into their hurtful, hateful version of America.

The American right, Republicans/MAGA, are brood parasites; like cuckoos taking over the nest of America and coaxing the populace into doing their bidding in the name of freedom, as they take over and push freedom out to make way for the rich to reign.

We can see them if we look, poking at the edges of the Constitution and the republic, seeing what they can get away with, what holes they can make, and then attacking using that knowledge.

This is literally what they're doing with Harvard: 'How far can we go to gain control over higher education'. Because that is what authoritarian regimes do.

'Flood the zone', keep the populace underwater enough they cannot afford to fight, steal it all right from under our noses. In plain sight.

That is today. That is now.
