In October in Albuquerque at #USRSE24, I received my @us_rse Impact Award certificate, and there's now a photo to prove it 🙂 #RSEng
We wrote up a little bit about the great experience some of our group members had at the second annual @us_rse conference in October! 🎉 #rse #USRSE24 #rstats https://datascience.cct.arizona.edu/news/cct-ds-team-us-rse-24-conference

One of the coolest things we learned about at #USRSE24 is Codefair—your #FAIR personal assistant! Codefair is a GitHub app that will look through your GitHub repository and give you actionable steps to make your code more FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable).

US-RSE-24

*Posted on 2024-11-04* Last month (October/2024) I attended the [US Research Software Engineering 2024](https://us-rse.org/usrse24/) conference that took place in Albuquerque, NM. This post is a summary of what I learned during this event. Although I am not a Research Software Engineer (RSE) per-se, most of the projects I am involved at work are related to developing infrastructure to support research data. So, when last year I started hearing rumblings about Research Software Engineering conferences I got a bit curious and decided to attend the one in the US.

Really enjoyed US-RSE'24 in ABQ! I'm glad I joined US-RSE and decided to attend the conference, despite its proximity to my PhD defense!

Thanks to Anshu Dubey from Argonne for introducing me to US-RSE, in response to a question I had about open data at AITHERM'23 (a niche workshop organized by Dr. Yoonjin Won at UC Irvine)!

I'm gradually going through my notes and following people I met at US-RSE'24, so if you get a random follow then maybe this post explains it!

I like the approach that Daniel Howard advocated on his lighting talk on mindful software development:
