@magicfab I'm not sure how I feel about embedded controllers, but it appears once can self-host as well.

They sure do hit all the markets (Outdoor, Indoor, LR, Wifi 5/6/7/8/32, In-Wall, etc) as most of the #UBNT gear; Perhaps I'll bring in a unit or two to test with.

Heute damit verbracht meinen #UniFi Controller zu #Docker zu migrieren. Hat bis zum letzten #Switch auch ganz gut funktioniert - der hat mir dann das gesamte #Netzwerk und Internetzugang zerlegt. 🙈 Wie man sieht, hat es dann noch funktioniert. 😅

Grrrrrr.

So I finally got unifi 9 up, and got the mongodb server upgraded from 3.2 to 8. This is a pile of garbage the UBNT should have automated and decided instead "meh".

They get a lot right, and a lot wrong and I wish there was another good self hosted single pane of glass option to genuinely compete.

important reminder in case You get https://ubnt.com / https://www.ui.com/ account made extra sure if You have access to email used to register, bc allegedly them planning force enable 2fa soon over all accounts and if someone not get configured it already will get auto forced to mail 2fa... (no access to mail = lost access to ubnt/ui account) || #ubnt #ui #2fa #totp

Spoke too soon! It looked like it adopted everything, but after everything updated and rebooted, my other devices were still showing offline.

Looks like ssh'ing to each of them and running `syswrapper.sh restore-default` puts them back into factory-restore mode, and then they start the adoption process when they come back up. Not too bad.
