Just upgraded my old Unifi USG with a new UCG-Max. Pretty simple switch over. Just had to get the UCG-Max online with the WAN connection and restore all my settings from backup. Everything else "just worked". Step one in my plan to upgrade my home network to 2.5G!
Finally got my #UniFi Travel Router yesterday 🙌 This thing is hard to get like concert tickets..
Setup was a breeze and everything seemed to work right away. It’s so cute and mini!
I’ll test it properly soon
EV Charging Cables at Linus Media Group were stolen. They complain about the manufacturer of their current chargers, Grizzl-E, not selling replacement cables. Third party sellers offer them for 200$ which was to expensive in their opinion.
Instead they decided to get completely new chargers from their sponsor Ubiquiti, for free of course. They would cost 500$ new each.
The catch: Ubiquiti doesn't sell replacement cables in their online store either. They're playing us for absolute fools.

Home-lab WiFi yak shaving rabbit hole from hell.
1. UAP-AC-Pro only negotiates 100baseT on an 8m cable with PoE injector
2. I re-crimp both ends of the cable, multiple times
3. I replace the switch with an RB4011, move the (48V) PoE injector in front of the switch
4. Still 100baseT, but the AP is now resetting when it gets warm
5. I replace the UAP with a hAP AC
6. The hAP negotiates GbE, but iwlwifi (AX200) firmware crashes on connect: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=221360
I put together a couple scripts to help with graceful shutdown and recovery from power outages that integrates with the Unifi UPS 2U and its built in NUT server pretty easily.
It works with any NUT server of course, but you can't change the Unifi UPS' NUT server settings, so things had to be a bit more complicated. Here's the project if anyone else is interested.
#Unifi Travel Router now in Stock in the EU store!

Mind you, I have no idea how to set up my USG to use #ipv6 locally!
