Vergessene Konten

Es soll ja Menschen geben, die Konten "vergessen". Man hat das Konto lange nicht benutzt und tatsächlich irgendwann vergessen. Oder man hat das Passwort nicht mehr und weiß nicht, wie man das Konto wieder aktivieren kann - oder ist zu nachlässig dafür. Das kann E-Mail Konten betreffen, antisoziale Netzwerke, Online-Shops, andere Dienste. Nun mag man vielleicht denken, dass ein totes Konto harmlos sei. Aber das ist ein Irrtum. Das Konto selbst kann gehackt werden, wenn es mit einem schwachen oder mehrfach verwendeten Passwort gesichert war. Auch der Dienst dahinter kann gehackt werden, was dann zu einem Datenleck führen kann.

J’ai mis en place l’authentification à deux facteurs pour accéder à mon compte sur mon serveur (streams). Avec l’appli sur le téléphone qui me sort un code qui change régulièrement et tout. J’ai trop l’impression d’être un agent secret comme dans les films.

Looking for some #security help for someone who's not on Mastodon, suggestions welcome.

#Hotmail (#Outlook) account with #2FA activated, using the MS #Authenticator app. Getting unexpected authenticator notifications/challenges.

Is there a way to stop these? It seems just entering the corresponding email address without a password already triggers authenticator. After searching I figure one cannot set it up so password has to be entered correctly first, before sending 2FA request. 1/2
