#Olena_Skliar (left) and #Anastasiia_Kolvakh (right) were both killed in yesterday's #Russian strike on #Poltava.
#Olena was a nurse. She died in the hospital due to injuries from the strike.
#Anastasiia was an actress, and in her spare time, she volunteered at #UAnimals, a #Ukrainian animal rights organization.
My thoughts go out to the families of the victims.

"I would rather take all the dogs than my belongings," says #Olena, who was evacuated by the #UAnimals team from the village of #Shevchenko, #Donetsk region.
The team managed to evacuate #Olena, eight cats, and fourteen dogs. The evacuation took place 1.5 kilometres away from the #Russian offensive.
In the video, drones can be seen and heard flying overhead while volunteers put the animals in carriers and load them into an evacuation vehicle.

He left #Torsky in the #Donetsk region with his animals and headed for the #Poltava region - he once had relatives there. A small bag is among the belongings.
Already later, volunteers helped him reach #Poltava Oblast and find shelter there.

Volodymyr, a 70-year-old man, started walking from #Torske in #Donetsk to #Poltava with three cows and a dog, refusing to leave them behind as he fled the war. Carrying only a small bag after his cart broke.
A defender met him, provided food and water, and sought help from the "Zemlyachki" fund, which helps servicemen.
#UAnimals found Volodymyr near #Izyum in the #Kharkiv region and with the support of Poltava's acting mayor, they found him and his animals a home.

Володимир йшов пішки з трьома коровами та собакою, бо не хотів їх покидати💔 Чоловікові 70 років. Він вийшов із Торського на Донеччині разом зі своїми...
This is also what #Ukraine is fighting for - so all families can reunite fully.
We are waiting to see whether the #US Senate votes for #Ukraine aid today and keeping fingers crossed.
