Wonderful drawing (from 1848) of the 0-6-0 locomotive St David, built in 1830 by the Tredegar Iron Company for use on the Sirhowy Tramroad.
It was the first of a small fleet of locomotives designed and built by TIC Chief Engineer, Thomas Ellis Jr. St David was a development of the 1829 locomotive ‘Britannia’ built by Robert Stephenson & Co
