Sahil Kapur: "Pres. Trump says: 'It’s war. We’re in war.'

Meanwhile, congressional Republicans continue to treat it as a non-war, to avoid holding a vote on declaring war, as is required by the Constitution."

I am not disagreeing with you 🙂

As I said higher up in the thread, I wouldn’t put it past #Hamas to do what you suggest — and that is based SOLELY on my observation of how they themselves treat #Palestinian civilians — not to start a new conspiracy theory.

What I am pointing out in my immediately preceding post is that it is uncharacteristic of #Netanyahu to acknowledge a #tragicMistake even before #IDF investigation has concluded.

Nothing more, nothing less 🙂

>> I'm very skeptical about the cause of the fire. While not denying Israel did the attack on the Hamas operatives, of course, Hamas is known to sacrifice its own for its cause.

Still, it is telling that #Netanyahu publicly acknowledged that it was a #tragicMistake and ordered the #IDF to investigate the cause of the fire in an area that they had designated as “safe” for the refugees.

This CNN video is horrifying, and will increase pressure on #Israel

>> BOTH things can be true at the same time:
>> 1. #Israel can't (shouldn't) drop 2000lb MOAB-class bombs on #Rafah
>> 2. #Hamas aims cannot be negotiated— which leaves ONLY a military solution

#Netanyahu acknowledged that a “#tragicMistake” had been made after an Israeli strike in Rafah set fire to a tent camp housing displaced #Palestinians and killed at least 45 people.

This why Israel shouldn't even THINK of using 2000lb bombs in civilian areas

Israel-Hamas war: Netanyahu acknowledges ‘tragic mishap’ in strike on Rafah that killed dozens

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says a “tragic mishap” was made in an Israeli strike in the southern Gaza city of Rafah that set fire to a tent camp housing displaced Palestinians. Local officials say at least 45 people were killed in Sunday's strike. It only added to the surging international criticism Israel has faced over its war with Hamas. Netanyahu did not elaborate on the error. Israel’s military initially said it had carried out a precise airstrike on a Hamas compound, killing two senior militants. As details of the strike and fire emerged, the military said it had opened an investigation into the deaths of civilians.
