fluffybot's humansonaI’ve just finished reading A Beautiful Decay by @vicorva Having already read Books & Bones, the previous and first book set in the Tombtown universe, as well as the shorter stories, I knew roughly what kind of story to expect and I was excited to read it. I wasn’t disappointed, and I absolutely loved it.
We get to meet the characters we know and love, and they’ve changed. We also encounter new ones who are just as interesting. They all have their own personalities, and I felt lots of empathy for everyone. This is why I value a lot V’s books : we’ve got a cool adventure story, in an interesting world, but it’s not a Wikipedia article or mythical legend. It’s a story with lots of people, filled with feelings. Even if they live in a magical world, practice magic and live with undead people, it’s easy to feel a connection. Watching them react to each other and their environment, and grow as a result really moves me.
