Tom Mix is mistaken for an effete easterner when he arrives in a western town in search of the man who killed his father. Then they see him ride. King of the Cowboys and his trusted steed, Tony the Wonder Horse, are joined by an equally hard-riding Eva Novak to mete out some sorely needed lessons in civility while a twisty plot about the actual parentage of Mix’s character unwinds.

#TheNightHorsemen is a surviving 1921 American #silent #Western film directed by #LynnReynolds and starring #TomMix. It was produced by #WilliamFox and released by #FoxFilmCorporation. It was advertised as a sequel to the film #TheUntamed (1920), but the only actor reprising their role was Mix. A print is preserved in the #GeorgeEastmanHouseMotionPictureCollection.

There’s a museum in Dewey, Oklahoma dedicated to Tom Mix the opened in 1965 and it’s still running today (okay not exactly today because they’re closed on Sundays and Mondays but you get the picture)
