Its Festive season on earth!. The onset of Monsoon over the Indian sub-continent marks a sharp transition from the extreme heat to heavy rainfall. Nature exhibits its creativity in the sky and on the land.

The sun in its journey to the northern hemisphere brings a shift in the direction and characteristics of wind.
The Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) follows sun in its journey.
ITCZ is a belt of low pressure where winds from the southern and northern hemisphere converge.
As ITCZ moves northwards, it pulls the moist winds from the southern hemisphere towards the Northern Hemisphere.

Now the wind wind experience more disturbances as it flow over numerous islands in the Indian Ocean, and the mountain ranges over the landmasses.
These disturbances accelerates the cloud formation over the region and often leads heavy rainfall over the region.

For a remotesensing professional, this is a dull time of the year. As most of the time, the earth is covered with clouds.
But if you are interested in following the chaos of nature, it is a great time to look at the sky from space.

In another perspective, the small disturbances that originates in the ocean, slowly turns into a large cloud cluster or a depression.
rain over the land, soaking the seeds waiting for rain to sprout.
slowly turning the barren land to green meadows. powering a sequence of activities from sowing to harvesting.
and the economy of the nation.
