CBS Mornings: Herb Alpert celebrates 90 years and a return to the stage with new Tijuana Brass

Yesterday, I found out there's a pile of albums reusing/parodying the 'Whipped cream and other delights' cover (plus, Rewhipped, which isn't listed here)

Part of me, in my oodles of time (which I don't have) is very tempted to do a podcast going through them. Doesn't need to be me - if somebody else loves my idea, you don't need my permission, but go with my permission so I can hear it!

There was a little Spanish Flea.
A record star he thought he'd be.

He arrived in the city
still singin' his sweet harmony
as proud as any 🪳 could be.

I knew that I wanted to do a series; something where each piece would lead into the next. I had a fire under me, I didn’t want to sit around “waiting” for inspiration! These images have been stewin’ in my brainpan for almost 40 years! And I knew that it had to be a spiritual series. Both because I h

Whipped Cream was a #pop instrumental most famously recorded by #HerbAlpert & the #TijuanaBrass. Title track of their 1965 album and released 8 February as the lead single. The song was written by Allen Toussaint under the pen name of Naomi Neville (after his mother), and originally recorded by The Stokes. Alpert's recording became a HOT 100 hit. Later used as part of the music for The Dating Game. All whipped up with The Great Race pie fight.
