This pond is probably the only water in quite a distance, our neighborhood is quite arid and the days have been blazingly hot.
Mx Snail probably needed somewhere to relax and cool off ❤️🐌
I wore my "who will bell the cat" Tshirt today. I embroidered it years ago.
It got some good reactions today.
For example, the polished, highly professional sales assistant in a posh jewellery store, who reverted to her Cape Flats accent as she told me about 5 year old granddaughter, and how pleased the little girl was when her cat brought her a dead rat. "Is it a present? For me?"
I got my father's computer working again!
As a reward, this gorgeous creature tried to trick me into petting his tummy so that he could claw and bite me.
I don't mind. It's like being savaged by a small, furry dragon.

I just faced down 4 little neighbourhood boys armed with Nerf guns and doubt in their eyes after my husband told them I'm a werewolf.
They quickly decided I'm a "nice wolf" and spared me, despite the fact that their guns were (kamma-kamma) loaded with silver bullets.
(kamma-kamma means "pretend" or "fake" )
This is Charlie.
He was waiting for his person at the supermarket, and I was eating a pie. Charlie strongly indicated his willingness to accept the pie, but took my refusal to comply with good grace, apart from drooling on me and covering me with hair.
His person turned out to be a very old, deeply tanned man with hardly any teeth, who told me that Charlie's previous owner had kept him locked up for 6 years and never walked him.
Now he takes Charlie out for several long walks every day, with the side benefit that people talk to him (because Charlie is such a charmer) and his own health has improved immensely from the exercise as well.
He also told me that he's trained Charlie not to accept food from strangers. I'm not quite convinced of that! 😅

I think my gardening glove just tried to propose to me?
I was gardening, wearing an old pair of gloves I've had for years and no one else has worn.
As I was working (pulling out some weeds) I suddenly felt something on the ring finger of my left hand, where I wear my wedding ring. At first I thought thatmy wedding ring is slipping off, but when I felt through the glove, my ring was still in place, and there was a second ring around my finger.
I took the glove off and found a slightly battered stainless steel ring that must have somehow ended up inside the glove finger?
It doesn't look like jewellery, it looks more like a keyring.
I think I'll keep it. I'll wear it on my other hand.
Not sure what I'm agreeing to.
After a break of about eight years, my husband and I are starting up "Shower Songs" again.
He plays mandolin, and I sing.
Today we practiced Marian Faithfull's "Guilt", Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean", "Dead Leaves in the Dirty Ground" by the White Stripes, and folk songs "St James Infirmary" and "Honey in the Rock".
Going through old set lists is a trip. So many songs I'd forgotten about.
The reason Saffy has that look on her face is because I just gave her such delicious treat that she felt compelled to hide it in her cardboard box instead of eating it. She does this so that she can rush back to me and maybe get another treat. This way she gets ALL THE TREATS.
Unfortunately her strategy is off because as you can see, (note the black and white rat butt just visible behind her) the box was occupied. Nicodemus is happily eating her treat while she hopes for another one.

My sweetheart upgraded the drawing table he made me with some shelves and and a clever display board for my current favourite drawings.
It's just perfect.
Swam in the lake up in Silvermine today.
The water is almost black with tannins, it's like swimming in really strong tea. Swimming underwater, all I could see was my arms and hands looking tea-red through black water.
When I got out a frog jumped right over my foot, and then just sat there looking at me.
