Originally created for an elementary school in New York — which apparently did not work out as planned. After a short time in Central Park, the sculpture eventually moved to Denver, where it now stands in front of the public library.
Still a slightly surreal sight to stumble across.

Claude Jarman Jr., best known for his role in "The Yearling", has died at 90. He received a Juvenile Academy Award for his performance in the film. He appeared in "The Sun Comes Up" with Lassie, and his last role was in TV miniseries "Centennial".
