The journey from Hamburg to Århus went smooth. Århus is a well known place for The Vogt, and seeing the town hall again was a joy. On one of the walls is a relief of the Danish astronomer Ole Rømer (1644-1710) by Olaf Stæhr-Nielsen. In 1676 Rømer made the first measurement of the speed of light. Rømer also invented the modern thermometer showing the temperature between two fixed points (water boiling/freezing).

A looong walk across Tempelhofer Feld, including a picnic in a chilly wind, all in all two hours. Later a not so long visit to the Technikmuseum, where a Japanese spider crab holds a prominent position in a sugar exhibition: the sugar compound chitin is a crucial part of the crab's exoskeleton.

Following up first measuring of The Vogt's weight reveals that a critical comment on the method was well placed: The Vogt is as heavy as 6 grams!

Uncomfortably hot, but still a great day, peaking at the Tempelhofer Feld park, both in degrees celsius and excitement. And stumbling over a still working dragon faced water pump near the Rote Rathaus provides not only (undrinkable) water but also a memorable moment.

It's been a few years since #TheVogt was out on a long train expedition, you know, the pandemic. These photos are from the ferry leaving Norway's constitution day. Entered Sweden in Strömstad, then opening the paper printed interrail ticket, heading for Göteborg. The conductor hadn't seen that kind of ticket before, now it is all apped, on screen. But the printed version will fit an album better.
