It was recommended by #ChrisHayes in his book #TheSirensCall as an advocacy org for reclaiming our attention. Listening to his perspective on the issue, it sounds like he (and maybe they) don't really understand the #SocialWeb or what's already happening outside of the corporate algorithms...
They mention here how labor isn't worth much individually, even though it's all we have to offer, but it's collectively what all of capitalism runs on. And how that's true of our attention too. #TheSirensCall
The corporations are abusing us with algos and what we're doing here to claw back control is a kind of revolution. The standing up for ourselves seems small and is difficult but it means so much more at a societal level. #SocialWeb
edit: this already exists Chris

They're just fucking with us at this point.
"It's the specific structural mechanisms by which they monetize attention as opposed to the technological ability to do this thing that is the problem."
"Cause you could have the latter." #SocialWeb
"You could, email is messed up for lots of reasons and you know there's spam, but it's an open protocol, not monetized, you can send email to anyone. There's lots of reasons it's a great technology."

Is the internet slowly breaking our brains, and if so, what can we do about it? Offline with Jon Favreau is a place where you can take a break from doom-scrolling and tune in to smarter, lighter conversations about the impact of technology & the internet on our collective culture. Intimate interviews between Pod Save America host Jon Favreau and notable guests like Stephen Colbert, Hasan Piker, Chimamanda Adichie, ContraPoints, Margaret Atwood, and Rachel Maddow spark curiosity and introspection around the various ways our extremely online existence shapes everything from the ways we live, work, and interact with one another. Together we’ll figure out how to live happier, healthier lives, both on and offline. New episodes drop every Sunday morning, wherever you get your podcasts and on the Offline YouTube channel.

He's deliberately provoking a worse water crisis by assuring followers there is no need to respect the existing one.
If you see things like this as intending to induce chaos and collapse that he can blame on blue policy, it seems more devious than crazy.
He's also distracting from the more structural things he's doing. There is a lot afoot. Citizens not him, need to set priorities for response.
The Chris Hayes book on attention as currency, The Sirens' Call, is out today. I haven't read it yet but will. I suspect it will have strong opinions on this kind of thing.
