@tikibunnyimports @nezuko_2000 Certainly would pass through German #TechInspection for not having seatbelts nor being mounted properly.
- Also having >3 seats or >1 row makes it not legally a truck in #Germany anyway, which misses the point of it.

@GreenFire I'm not shure re: #Norway.
All I know that there are exactly 0 legal conversion kits in #Germany because "#TechInspection says no!"
@tikibunnyimports Yeah, @fuchsiii faced similar issues with her #Datsun1200 minitruck because that never got sold in #Germany so there never was a Type Number (TSN) issued for it, making it basically impossible to just get an #insurance booked with a few clicks like with my #CorsaD 3-door...
Still, it did took quite some time for the #DMV to punch it into their system, since it's got no pollution classification, no HSN/TSN combo to drop-down, the vehicle hat greek papers and a non-standard #VIN (they literally took the VIN from the plaque inside the frame that #TechInspection wrote down!)...
Now granted, a 1985 Tatsun 1200 LGBY does have unfiltered driving as in:
The most it has are electric wipers with a literal bag of fluid, indicators and lights.
Obviously, we're dealing here with real #ExoticCars in the truest of forms, because it's less of a hassle to get a Bugatti or Koenigsegg registered: They already come with COC papers and stuff from the factory and propably even have a toll-free hotline for DMV employees to authenticate the papers and check that the car ain't stolen. (Cuz stuff like that did and does happen with many vehicles!)...
@GrapheneOS It doesn't change the fact that #security requires #transparency and thus full access & reproduceability from source.
To give you a good example, source-available #Tarsnap demonstrates that stuff is truly securely encrypted by enabling #SelfCustody of keys and thus show they can't decrypt anything!
"Just use A, B, C & D, E, F" is the real threat as it sugfests people a false sense if security.
Collecting any #PII IS the illicit activity NO MATTER the excuse...
Sooner or later the #Enshittification of #Signal will reach a point where you'd rethink and consider apologizing...

@Mr_Hat_2010 @lethalbit Exactly.
Compare that to mandatory #TechInspection for motor vehicles in #Germany where I can get the datasheets for what my car must have from the manufacturer as per compliance certification and only need to pay some certified testing center less than €100 to get them to verify compliance and have said test engineer sign that in lieu of me lacking mandatory certification and test equipment to do it myself.
