Yesterday I finished the first game, Tchia, in my 12 For 12 challenge.

I only beat the main story, as 100% completion is a bit much in this game lol.

I really enjoyed it. What started as a pretty cozy game, ended up turning into a bit more darker and emotional story at times. Even with those moments, it still managed to feel pretty cozy.

Definitely recommended.

G-Nitro’s 2026 12 For 12 Gaming Challenge

The World Of G-Nitro
It's not end of the year but Ghost of Yōtei is definitely my favourite game this year, by miles and miles.

It's one of my favourite games ever already, and I'm not finished at all yet.

It hits the same good things that I need fulfilled that Tchia does.

I would recommend anyone play Tchia and Ghost of Yōtei. They are good.

Tchia was fantastic! I was frankly expecting more of a Summer in Mara type of experience, but Tchia is a legit action-packed, story-rich rpg. It's a blast to run, sail, swim, and glide around the islands, bonking stuff with your slingshot, zapping into animals, and burning down the forces of darkness. The story is engaging and has some surprisingly dark turns (there's a "family mode" toggle in the options, but I don't know what it does in concrete terms). It's also perfectly paced - it has been a *long* time since I've played an open world game where I wanted to keep exploring after I finished the story. There are a *ton* of unlockable cosmetics, from outfits to hairstyles to ukuleles to boat hardware to flags. I didn't really get into it because I dig Tchia's default style, but I'm pretty sure I have over a hundred things without going out of my way. It has a really deep ukulele mode that could almost be its own game. There are frequent music rhythm minigame challenges, but I enabled autoplay mode pretty quickly when I realized that I wasn't fully enjoying the songs and cutscenes while I was playing them. I'm pressing send now so I can get back in there - I still have the rest of Gaby's treasures to find, more shrine challenges to conquer, and more animals to pet.
