I noticed that not all games were loading correctly on my Dragon 32 computer when using the BackBit cartridge.

I opened up the computer and saw that it was generally clean, except for one exploded cap. Yikes!

This computer needs a recap then.

does anyone that I’m connected to #repair old TRS-80 Color Computers (or is connected to anyone who does) & is based even vaguely anywhere near #Canberra? (or within plausible shipping distance)

I wish to exchange $$ for goods & services to put the #MagicBlueSmoke back into my beloved old #CoCo1… 😢

#boost4reach pls 🙏

The Final Countdown (1982/1983)

(This continues, more or less, from my previous post.) In 1974, Donald Sherman ordered a pizza on the phone, making history. Not that it was the first delivery pizza ordered by phone — pizza …

1983 finally begins at All the Adventures as I visit a game inspired by the 1970s disaster classic The Poseidon Adventure.

Includes a history of the community behind the Tandy CoCo as well as some thoughts on women in adventure game history.

S. S. Poseidon (1982/1983)

By 1980 in the United States, the TRS-80 had still vastly outsold the Apple II, with 200,000 units to 35,000. The Apple II was the outlier expensive machine while TRS-80 was “for the people&#…

CoCoFEST! 2025 reveals NitrOS-9 progress on Foenix F256, with system demos, BASIC09 upgrades, and dev tools that make it shine.

and observe how the cut game mechanics undercut some of the more interesting aspects of the adventure-roguelike style

Keys of the Wizard: Gaps

(My previous posts on this game are needed for context.) I think I’ve squeezed most of the juice out of Easy difficulty level, even though I haven’t finished; I’m going to try upp…

Keys of the Wizard: Total Exhaustion

Thanks to L. Curtis Boyle and Rob in the comments, I now have the “box” art and manual for the earlier (Spectral Associates) version of the game. It looks like the manual is nearly iden…

All the Adventures reaches the sequel to one of the most difficult adventures of all time.

Except this time you can set the difficulty level! There's still randomization everywhere and it gives another opportunity to look at the roguelike-adventure genre.

Keys of the Wizard (1982)

Our journey through adventures with significant randomization, or as I’ve termed them, adventure-roguelikes, has been seriously bumpy. To be clear, not every randomization is “significa…

New Tandy CoCo 3 game! 😍

Zero Hour
Nickolas Marentes
March 2022

This is a really well put together game that shows what the CoCo 3 can do. Platformer with a variety of mechanics and a ticking time bomb!
