So apparently some suit at the #BBC wants #Tailenders to "convert" some of their listeners to use the BBC's own special app for listening to their podcast. My very polite opinion on that is "fuck off". If you want me to use a less convenient platform - and an app that only has one publisher's content is most certainly that, as it would just be an extra app for me to use - then you will have to pay me.

To Reduce the Scoring Potential of Tail-End Batters: When the 6th wicket of an innings has fallen, take out from both packs all cards marked with letters O and V. Shuffle only the cards marked A and L and continue with these only until the end or closure of the innings. When using the above method the number of overs should be limited to 65 per innings in the case of Knock-Out cricket and 130 overs in a single innings match and 260 overs for a two innings match. #cricket #tailenders #OvalCricket

Stumple | Guess the cricketer

A new mystery cricketer to guess each day! Use attributes like nation, playing role, IPL team, etc. to figure out who the player is.

@nwchapman I enjoy it immensely: also #Tailenders, which can be a bit Blokey but I am a fan. I don’t listen to much beyond #TMS but they are pretty good at having commentators from the opposition nations
Anyway, this evening’s culture. Podcasts started with #Tailenders, a loosely #Cricket based podcast, which I find immensely enjoyable. Think we need to grow the cricket community here in the Fediverse, it is one thing I do value on Birdsite. Also #ThingsFallApart, a special by Jon Ronson from the Hay Festival on BBC Sounds. It was a great series about the often surprising origins of the Culture Wars and this was a nice chat to accompany it - and reveal another series is coming.
A great article from Felix White of #Tailenders on the addictive agony of what’s shaping up to be a classic #Ashes summer… https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/65973240
Forgot my podcasts! #Tailenders was very funny. Enjoyed the new jingle. Also #HistoryHit on the recent German putsch attempt. Fascinating.

Today’s cultural intake
