Bean Hollow State Beach 🧵
1/2 Bean Hollow State Beach is one of the loveliest beaches in California, and lies along Highway 1 near San Mateo County. It is famous for its tafoni, pebbles and beautiful rock.
The “tafoni’ is wind and wave eroded soft sandstone, that captures the pebbles in little pockets. The colorful pebbles are varieties of white agate, red chert, green jade, jasper, and other types of stone, and are washed in from an offshore gravel bed.
