Their ability occasionally turns their next melee atk into a 5 space arc around them. Fight the whole team. Favorite class so far. Loving this game.

That was always gonna go south. That one's on me.
I wish #demonschool had a deeper battle system, or one with more stakes. At present it distinctly feels like a good visual novel with a "meh, good enough" tactical rpg combat system that feels MUCH more like a puzzle game and wears out its sense of novelty.
Teammates pile up quickly and start feeling redundant. Battles start feeling obligatory, and the ranking system never offers enough rewards to incentivize replaying a mission to get that A rank. Thankfully, the majority of those missions are pretty easy yo A rank.
The result is the exact inverse of #Blazblue, which married an absolutely legendary fighting game to an utterly convoluted trash ass visual novel.
I love grid based/tactical RPG battles, but the combat in this game doesn't present enough depth or new enemies to remain interesting over it's drawn out run time.
On the other hand, the very boisterous main character Girl DOES kiss a lot of her teammates and none ever mention her dating and kissing 90% of the team.
I like Metal Slug Tactics for the same reason i like Fighting games:
I get to pick a cool character, think about my choices, and then get exciting moments in pursuit of solid choices and calculated risks.
It's fun as hell. A lil tactics game where each run only takes a few hours, with plenty of places to put it down and come back. The Rogue like element means each run is different and though you can unlock new starting builds and characters, nothing carries over from run to run.
Ralf, Clark, and Fio (pictured) is the KOF team I've always wanted and will never get lol.
I wish my friends liked KOF enough for me to commit to it. sigh... Ralf Clark Vanessa...

This week's game is Little Master: Raikuban no Densetsu, a monster-focused strategy RPG brought to you by some of the people who would go on to make Okage: Shadow King. If you're familiar with Majin Tensei, this is essentially like that but cuter and simpler!

The game had new mechanics which I find very new for everyone, including old players of the Tactics genre like me.
I had the main battle with Nybeth repeated four times! Goddammit. I lost a generic Rune Fencer and Archer I felt so bad with them dying 🥺😭🤧
