@WomenForAfg announced the launch of the second round of its dialogue series, titled โ€˜Towards Unity and Trustโ€™, taking place in London from 24โ€“25 March 2026. The first round, in which @Fawziakoofi77 played a prominent role, was held in Islamabad in 2025.

Some pro- and anti-Taliban accounts on X, including @Misaq45 and @MuslimShirzad, described the London gathering as a meeting between Pakistani figures and Taliban opponents, alleging it was โ€œinitiated by the ISIโ€.

@tamimasey stated on X that he had been invited but declined to participate, claiming that โ€œalmost all the speakers were former corrupt jihadists and republic-era figures, now aligned with Pakistanโ€.

Taliban release US academic held in detention for more than a year

Marco Rubio welcomes release of Dennis Coyle, who was detained in January last year for violating unspecified laws

The Guardian

Itโ€™s my honor that I was able to help secure the release of Dennis Coyle, an American citizen and accomplished academic held by the Taliban for more than a year. He is on his way back to America and his very relieved family. Dennis expressed his gratitude to Qatar, for visiting him in prison and UAE, for its part in implementing the release and providing logistical support today. I join Secretary Rubio in thanking Qatar and the UAE for their essential roles in helping Dennis regain his freedom. The Taliban decision to release him is a positive step, giving hope that the remaining cases can also be resolved asap. Continued work and effort are needed, but today was a good day. #USA #Afghanistan @POTUS @SecRubio #Qatar #UAE #SaudiArabia #Turkiye #SaudiArabia
