@AGTAfghanistan has claimed that the Green Unit carried out a hit-and-run operation in Paryan district of Panjshir province, allegedly killing Mullah Gul Haidar, described as a Taliban intelligence official.

An unverified video, said to show the victim, was shared by the Green Trend; however, the Taliban and independent sources have not confirmed the killing.

The AFG Green Trend also issued a warning to Taliban members residing with their families in homes previously vacated by locals in Panjshir, urging them to leave or face similar consequences. The statement further suggested that even family members could be at risk.

The Taliban’s Afghan International Islamic University (AIIU) has announced the graduation of its second student of PhD program from the Sharia faculty, following the graduation of its first about a week earlier. The university was established in November 2021 by the Taliban, within a compound originally constructed for the American University of Afghanistan (@AUAfghanistan) in the Darul Aman area of Kabul.

The Taliban’s spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health responded to an @AmuTelevision report alleging corruption within the ministry. He denied claims that Taliban security forces had arrested @MoPH_afg officials from the minister’s office over corruption, calling the report untrue.

However, he acknowledged that, in line with principles of transparency and efforts to address potential irregularities, some employees may be questioned or temporarily restricted by relevant authorities in coordination with ministry officials to clarify such matters.

“If investigations find employees guilty, they will be punished in accordance with applicable Sharia law. If they are proven innocent, they will be reinstated to their duties with honor.”

Muttaqi stated that Taliban forces have taken decisive action against individuals and groups that undermine Afghanistan’s relations with Central Asian countries. He noted that Afghanistan shares 2,329 kilometers of land and river borders with its Central Asian neighbors, underscoring the need for closer cooperation in reinforcing the banks of the Amu River and modernizing border infrastructure.

He also assured participants of the Taliban’s readiness to address the concerns of Central Asian countries and to strengthen regional collaboration.

The acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban, Amir Khan Motqi, stated at a meeting of Afghanistan and Central Asian countries in Kabul that destructive elements such as the ISIS threat, drug trafficking, illegal migration, and planned crimes are shared concerns for both sides.

Mr. Motqi said that Afghan forces have taken decisive action against individuals and groups that harm Afghanistan’s friendly relations with the countries of Central Asia.

He added that Afghanistan shares a 2,329-kilometer border with Central Asian countries, so joint cooperation is needed to strengthen the banks of the Amu Darya River and modernize border markers.

He assured the Central Asian countries of the Islamic Emirate’s readiness to address their concerns.

The Taliban’s Minister for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Sheikh Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, reportedly stressed the importance of studying science and technology, especially for young people, during a meeting with jihadi and tribal leaders from across the country. Citing a verse from the Quran, he added that possessing advanced technology strengthens national security, noting that it can deter both neighboring states and other actors from violating a country’s airspace.

The Taliban have announced that, at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the IEA, the “Afghanistan–Central Asia Consultative Dialogue” will be held tomorrow (Sunday) in Kabul.

The meeting will be chaired by the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, and will reportedly include high-ranking representatives from Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. Discussions are expected to focus on political, economic, and security issues, as well as on strengthening regional cooperation, trade, and transit.

The meeting’s banner features the flags of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan alongside the Taliban flag.
