I wonder if whoever coined the phrase "Speech is silver, silence is golden" was a #Synaesthete.

As a synesthete, I love when music sound like the colours orange, blue, or purple! 🧡🩵💜

I’m a #synaesthete (in particular grapheme-colour #synaesthesia), which means whenever I see a symbol, my brain can “see” a colour from it. It’s been the same colours since childhood!

For me, straight line symbols tend to be blue, angular symbols tend to be green, “bendy” symbols tend to be yellow, and rounder symbols tend to be red.

Here’s a chart showing which letters and numbers are what colours according to my synesthesia!

One of the cool things about being a #synesthete is that you can quickly find something in a list by looking at what colours each word are.

Just now I found a sound effect I forgot the name of because I knew it started with a "yellow letter" (D), and the colour I see in the first letter turns the whole word into that colour!

Other symbols my brain associates yellow with are B, K, P, S, 2, 5, and 6. #Synesthesia

any other #synesthete artists out there?

I've been working on visual art lately and have been trying to draw and paint based on my #synesthesia . Here's sort of what a glitchy techno track might look like

As a #synesthete with 3D time forms, the year is mostly vertical and I feel a little scared of heights sitting here in January. Too high!

I don’t know if anyone in the #fedeverse uses the #GoogleAssistant or has a #GoogleHome, but if you do, you probably know that you can choose from multiple voices for the assistant. Instead of having traditional names, the voices are distinguished by color. For example, Red, Amber, and Purple. As a #Synesthete, it bothers me that the colors #Google chose don’t match the voices behind them. This is another example of how corporations define reality for the rest of us.
