Yesterday I stumbled on the Warhammer Underworlds starter box for less than 15€ and while I don't expect to play the game ... Ever? ... I do like the undead warband that's in it and figured I can always scavenge the rest for parts or tokens.
So now I have ten figures worth of pushfit GW plastic and I have opinions!
First, those 7 boney buddies: Love them. Look cool, breeze to assemble and even fit together really well. Nice variety of weapons and poses, these will make great #SwordWeirdos. (I already have an undead warband, but one can never have too many, really.)
Those 3 stormcast Eternals, though: Nope, don't like them. For one, they have the distinction of being the first models ever I needed the manual to assemble. 3-4 parts each, split really weirdly, it was not fun. The pushfit is pretty bad, the gaps are humongous and in really obvious places, like all those absurdly huge shoulder plates and they just ... look weird?!? Like tiny, tiny heads relative to everything else, no way they can look down without bonking their noses on their plate collars, gauntlets that have parts looking like metal but also folding like fabric, ... Its a mess.
Those are not good sculpts!
But whatever, I have my skelly bois! <3
I’ve finished painting my first minis for the Amethyst Gloom. They are ready for #Underworld. I’ll add a Knight of Shrouds and a familiar to play #Necropolis . Then some more (perhaps another Underworld warband ?) and I’ll have a complete #Warcry team, as well as a #SwordWeirdos one !
I’ve leant more into an "atmospheric" feeling for these ones. I’ve got heavily rusted weapons, dark purple clothes, aetheric blue ghosts and black and white bases.
Getting ready to try Sword Weirdos for the first time. Any advice?
