@chris
On the one hand, congrats.

OTOH, this represents a thing that has significantly changed within my lifetime and it makes me uncomfortable.

Used to be, if your customer was perfectly happy with a service or product that met their expectations, you heard NOTHING.

You'd hear a few complaints from customers who had a bad experience. On RARE occasion someone would go out of their way to pay a compliment.

Then there's my #SwedishBaptist upbringing which turns this into a thread...(cont'd)

IIRC, there's an Islamic belief that only Allah makes things perfect, & if a person tries to make a perfect Persian Rug (e.g.), it is an offense to Allah, borne of Pride.

The #SwedishBaptist version of essentially this same sentiment is why my mother puts Walnut chunks in #ChocolateChipCookies

They can't be completely delicious - they need to be at least a little bit nasty & gross.

Further, I wonder how much of all this is the #ViciousCycle of the #GroupThink part of #Tribalism. We all know people who WILL NOT HEAR anything that contradicts a belief that crumbles from objective scrutiny.

Has parallels to the #SwedishBaptist cult in which I was raised. Constant grace & love heaped on folks in #CrisisOfFaith. "Everyone has doubts; it's OK." The infamous #LoveBomb is such an insideous cult tactic in a community where being different at all requires courage.
