Colorado Sun: Google taps Boulder physicist to head up new quantum-computing team in Colorado. “Google said Tuesday that it is entering the Colorado quantum realm in what seems like a very tiny way: It hired a quantum physicist in Boulder to speed up development of its first quantum computer.
#HPC #supercomputing I gave a talk for a Systems Admin focused workshop for the Energy in HPC conference at Rice. My talk focused on our center's "real" update; that is, actual problems we experience and how we deal with them. I spoke truthfully about two vendors, and one of them reached out to my colleague! I've included a screenshot of the exchange below..
What kind of crybaby, entitled shit is this? I did not "rip" into the vendor's product, I spoke the truth regarding it. In this case the vendor should be bending over backwards to us for stating that their product was "production ready" on a large HPC cluster when it clearly wasn't. If we were told to treat the product as alpha or beta, different implementation decisions would have been made.
