I managed to avoid the massive downpour earlier, so went out during the #sunshower that followed. Sunshowers are fascinating, especially in terms of #folklore, because almost every #culture, often with variations on the hyperlocal level, has a term for it, plus associated imagery. Locally, it's called a "little devil's fair" or
"funfair in hell", which seems to go back at least to the 17th century. Others talk of marriage or struggle between "good" and "evil"; the latter sometimes including rather violent imagery really. There's just a lot of it.
